Multan ranks first among the most polluted cities

Multan, the second largest city in Pakistan’s Punjab province, was engulfed in smog today.

As you know many cities of Punjab and KP are under fog and smog.Smog has engulfed Multan as well, now Multan is the most polluted city after Multan and Lahore second.Multan Air Quality Index crossed 1900.

Among the most polluted cities of Pakistan, Multan ranks first and Lahore ranks second in Air Quality Index, while many cities of Punjab and KP are also plagued by fog and smog.

Due to smog and fog on both sides, Motorway M1 from Charsadda to Akbarpura, Motorway M2 from Lahore to Kot Sarwar, Motorway M3 from Darkhana to Darkhana and M4 from Pindi Bhatian to Abdul Hakeem have been closed for all traffic.

Motorway M5 from Shershah to Jhangara and Lahore-Sialkot Motorway are also closed for traffic.

In order to deal with the problem of smog in various cities of Punjab, the Lahore High Court has ordered the closure of markets across Punjab at 8 pm, while all markets across Punjab will remain closed on Sundays as well.

In 18 districts of smog-affected 4th division, all recreational facilities, including sports grounds, museums and zoos, will also remain closed till November 17.

On the other hand, Lahore Walled City Authority has also suspended all tourism and entertainment programs and events in the city till November 17.
